Animal rescues are reaching capacity amidst the cost-of-living crisis. With the effects of post-pandemic and the global financial crisis, many people are left struggling to afford to look after their pets.

Henry’s Haven Cat Rescue is a foster-based rescue, with volunteers who take in cats with medical issues or disabilities. They have seen an increase in pets being surrendered to their services due to owners not being able to afford vet bills and care for the cats as they need.

Conservative conference sparks outrage in Transgender community in Leeds – Leeds Now

Rishi Sunak when addressing the Conservative party at a conference made statements that have had a severe impact on the transgender community. Sunak stated that “men are men and women are women.”

Leeds City Council are continuing their fight for women and girls safety in the city as part of their initiative to make Leeds a women friendly city.

Women Friendly Leeds has partnered with Walksafe, a safety app created with the vision of providing support to women when walking at night. Their aim is to ensure women not only feel safe, but are safe when out or walking home.
